A national tragedy struck Kenya when an oil blaze broke out in the Rift Valley killing as many as 100 people.
The accident occurred after a tanker crashed and overturned, spilling fuel onto the road. According to reports, people surrounded the tanker to collect the free oil when a spark ignited the fuel. It is unclear as to whether this was a terrible accident or if the fire was started deliberately. Police are investigating claims that the oil was set ablaze by people who were being prevented from reaching the tanker by security forces.
