Guinean striker Alhassane Keita has been signed by Spanish side Mallorca as cover for the star striker Daniel Güiza who could be on his way out of the club according to Spanish newspaper, El Mundo Deportivo.

The Guinean international arrives on a five-year deal from Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad of Jeddah. The deal is said to cost the Mallorcan club €3m, with two being payable to Al-Ittihad and the other third serving as a signing-on fee for the player.

Keita, 24, impressed with in his previous European stint with Swiss outfit FC Zürich, with whom he was top scorer in the Super League of 2005-06 with 20 strikes to his name.

He started off his career in Africa with Moroccan club OC Khouribga and has since gone on to play three continents, despite his tender age. He was in the Guinea squad that impressed football fans during the Africa Cup of Nations of 2004 in Tunisia.
